And of course everyone who came down to the talk at Camberwell College of Arts on the 16th.

As it transpires, I’ve been awarded the Creative Enterprise Freelance Award once more. I’m humbled, grateful and giddy… and really wasn’t expecting it.

Filmed in my studio in Berlin. The source material was provided, so an added challenge – the figure is not particularly representative of my work’s current path but is a comprehensive expose of the process of completing a quick study (just under two hours). More fun than being sold more stuff, for sure. I had just rolled out of an aeroplane. Enjoy.

For those who expressed doubt, I am very much alive.

I have been based in Berlin since March, and so far so inspiring (at the time of writing I am here until at least October). The hostility of London being wiped away as suddenly as a two-hour flight is as refreshing as an august super-soaker showdown. Special.

As soon as I saw Berlin I wanted it, and fortunately I’m in the habit of twisting dreams into reality. I am working under scholarship at the Universität der Künste Berlin, an institution which has to be experienced to be believed, especially if one is accustomed to the British education industry; industry being the operative word. Freedom, brilliance, red squirrels tumbling around like giddy children. My studio is in a castle, really. London – forgive my adultery – I’m in love.

Lots of live drawing in the gallery and encouraging some initially reluctant but eventually super inspired members of the public to try. Thanks to everyone who came down. I’ll be back at the N.P.G on the 27th November giving free public gallery talks (interjected by drawing and dancing around to David Bowie) for the ’60s Retro’ event from 6.30. Get your Twiggys drawn on.

Everybody buy a copy of the next Aesthetica Annual/Magazine, I’ve been highly commended in the field of ‘Artwork & Photography’ for my 2009 painting, ‘Toby’ (see comment art/myspace above).
